A Christmas mini-session is the perfect way to get a collection of gorgeous images of your family in a quick-fire photoshoot which will be over before they lose interest!
These make wonderful Christmas gifts for family, or you can create your own family Christmas cards.

How to prepare for your session
I do most of the work for you, so you just need to turn up ready for your photoshoot
All you need to do is to make sure any children being photographed are well-rested and dressed in a suitably warm/festive outfit that will work well with the colours of this year’s backdrop. which is a nighttime window scene with dark wood frame, sparkling Christmas tree and wooden floor - just like in this photo.
You don't need to dress kids up in festive outfits, although you're more than welcome to. Think warm, cosy colours and textures, Christmas pyjamas or anything seasonally appropriate. Reds and tartan outfits work particularly well with this darker backdrop.
When booking your Christmas mini session I recommend avoiding nap-time or any time your little ones might be hungry.
ALL THE DETAILS
YOUR CHRISTMAS SET
The Christmas set will be ready and waiting for your to arrive! The set is not huge so your children will be sitting on the floor, or standing if they're still small.
I include Christmas props but feel free to bring any items you'd like to include in the pictures, like favourite teddies or Christmas hats.
YOUR OWN PRINT SHOP
Your gallery included access to a professional print shop so you can purchase Christmas cards, prints from 6x4 to ... HUGE! As well as canvasses, framed prints and a range of other products too.
ONLINE GALLERY
There's no need to return for a viewing after your session. You will receive an online gallery from me with all the edited images from your session, usually between 10 - 30.
From this you can choose the images you'd like to keep as part of your package, or buy some more if you just can't decide!
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
Don't worry, I have plenty of FREE parking at my studio and I'm close to the town centre on Dysart Road if you'd rather take public transport walk.

What about if I want to feature
Multiple Households?
If you’d like me to photograph children from multiple households during your Christmas mini-session, each household must book their own individual session… but if you select adjacent session times, I’ll be happy to include images of children from both households together.
Experience has taught me that multiple households booking a single session can lead to a somewhat chaotic session, with a negative effect on all the images taken during the session…
Staggering two individual sessions back to back ensures I have sufficient time to photograph each child properly. Then I’ll add a selection of images of children from both households together, during the overlap between the two sessions.
This ensures you get the best images and the most variety during the two sessions. Each household’s gallery will include images of their own children plus the images I take of both households together.

Who are these sessions for?
Our Christmas mini-sessions are primarily designed for babies who are able to sit up unaided, toddlers and young children.

How many pictures do you take?
It depends. You will choose a session between 10 and 20 minutes long and I will be able to shoot more than you think during this time.
I'll select and edit the best ones after your session and you'll typically see around 20 - 30 images in your gallery.

How much do extra digitals cost?
Additional digital images are available for purchase as follows;

ALL digital files (plus slideshow) £125
Customers who upgrade to a full set of digital images (typically 20 images) will also receive an ultra high-resolution animated slideshow at no extra charge.

What if my baby is too small to sit up?
If your baby is too young to sit up unaided, then he or she will need to be supported during the session.
This can be either a parent holding baby, or for older babies who are almost sitting up, we have a small ‘bumbo’ seat we can use.
However, it’s important to understand that your session may include less variety than we can offer with older children who can sit up and interact with our sets more easily.

Can we buy extras?
Yes of course. You can upgrade your package to include additional digital images, or you can choose to purchase Christmas cards, prints, canvasses or other products directly from your online gallery.

Can we include parents?
My Christmas sets is not huge (about 2m wide) so it's really designed for just the children, and this is when they look best.
I can include one or two pictures with parents if you really want, it'll be a pretty tight squeeze, and you’ll need to ‘hunker down’ on the floor for this.
If you want a ‘family portrait session’ then one of my other session types might be more suitable for you.

Can I include my cousins/friends/next door neighbour?
Unfortunately, no. I simply don’t have the space to include more than a maximum of 4 children on my small backdrop at any one time.
Additionally, I’ve found that I need to keep the numbers relatively small, in order to maintain some sort of order during the course of these quick-fire portrait sessions!
